TVR Heads Into Muster With Confidence

After the past two weekends of competition, both TVR drivers Craig and Bert Vosbergen head in to this weekends Sedan Muster full of confidence to achieve some good results against the best the LMRA has to offer.

And for the senior member of the team Bert, it will be an especially busy night as he will be competing in the Super Sedans as well with his potent Pantera.

The veteran has shown some speed in both divisions over recent weeks, achieving better results with the Late Model more so than the Pantera Super Sedan. The Pantera is still having teething problems with its very unique motor/suspension set-up but when everything holds together it shows encouraging signs, enough to keep the team committed to try and make it work no matter how tough things may look from the outside.

But it’s been in the Late Model where the veteran has shown his best form of late, earning himself and the team a much needed race win last time out at the Motorplex, a just reward for all the hours Bert and his team put in the workshop between meetings. It may have been a long time between drinks and you can be assured he will be giving his all once again this weekend to reap the rewards on offer at the Motorplex.

Craig showed just what he is capable of last weekend at Manjimup, his first competitive hit out since racing against the worlds best sedan racers during our winter in the USA. Campaigning the #12 car that Doug Drown used last season, many thought the lack of laps my of hurt Vosbergen, but he dispelled those beliefs with a brilliant run in the thirty five lap final for the Western Australian crown. “I ran out of tear offs by about lap ten which made us struggle, so the second was a good result for us. I’ve lost nine kilo’s since returning from America so I knew I would be in pretty good shape, and I’m gonna have to be if I want to beat the likes of Brad Blake this weekend.”

Blake has been the form driver so far this season and TVR realize that they have to lift to their standards if they want to beat him. “Look he’s not unbeatable” Craig commented after the state championship, “Brad Blake doesn’t bother me, you know it could have been me in front and him behind with no tear offs and it could have been a different story. If you start thinking he’s unbeatable, well your never going to beat him, and we’ve beat him enough times to know that we are capable of doing the job.”

Tough words from one of the toughest competitors in this high horsepower, high adrenaline division, the Late Model Sedans. Can he claim a win this weekend, well there is only one way to find out. Get down to the ‘Plex’ and support the TVR duo as they take on some of Australia’s best sedan pilots this Saturday night.
