TVR Take One-Two At The Plex.

The first time this season, Team Vosbergen Racing drivers Craig and Bert Vosbergen were able to grab a one-two finish in the King of Kwinana twenty lap final at the Perth Motorplex last Saturday night.

It was a perfect way to end a successful two night affair for TVR in the Late Model Sedans, which saw four ten lap heats and a rare twenty lap final. It was some of the best driving seen this season from these two experienced campaigners and couldn’t have happened at a better time as this was the last show prior to the running of the highly anticipated Australian Dirt Late Model Nationals on March 13 and 14.

This will give both drivers plenty of confidence leading into this big event, especially with the way both performed in the heats as well. They both greeted the checkered flag with one win a piece, plus a number of top five finishes as well. Bert was the only one to suffer a DNF over the two nights, ruining his chance of a top two points result and ultimately earning a third place finish.

But back to the drivers who grabbed the top two places in that twenty lap final, here is what they had to say afterwards:-

Bert Vosbergen (2nd) “We bombed out in that heat which made it very hard having to start out of position nine (in the final), but I think the people that saw it saw a car that was capable of winning the Australian Title, especially if luck goes your way. There is a lot of luck in this sport, and I’ve been to a lot of titles and I’m feeling good because we have learnt a lot about the handling of the car in recent shows, we have done a lot of homework and it really is a good car now.”

Craig Vosbergen (Winner) “It was good tonight. We have still been playing around with set up and I think we actually have got something pretty good in the slick. Last night we got a win and a fourth and then tonight we got dished up something different in the way of a track we haven’t seen in a long time and we still had a pretty good hooked up car.

Unfortunately we had an incident in one of the heats there where the car was too tight and I couldn’t negotiate the traffic to well and we come together with a lapped car. It was unfortunate that it happened and I felt really sorry for Jason (Moyle) and I went up and said I was sorry for it. Thankfully he was happy about the fact that I apologized, but apart from that, for the team it was a great result especially leading into the Aussie Title there is nothing better than getting a win.”

For the team, the crew and the sponsors of TVR, everything looks to be heading in the right direction and that direction may lead to one of these two leaving the Australian Dirt Late Model Nationals with the coveted #1 on the door panel.
