Saturday December 1 at Northam Motorsport's Park Craig Vosbegren in the Worldwide Machinery/Royal Wolf/Kendrick/Rocket finished up second in the 2nd Annual Firecracker 50.

Craig enjoyed an awesome run in the heats with a pole in his first race where he cruised to an easy victory in his Monte Carlo.

Heat 2 had "The Rocket Man" out of 8th position. Craig got caught for the first part of the race in a freight train with no one making a move or even passing. A restart with 5 to go opened up the field a bit and Craig managed to find the fast line and finish in 4th position.

Main event time and a gruelling 50 laps ahead of the #8 machine. Craig would start out of position 4 and settle into a groove for the first 20 laps. It was a great race to watch with plenty of room given by the first 5 cars and drivers. On lap 33 Craig made his move into second position past Ben Ludlow and set out for the leader in Brad Blake. The two racers put the biggest distance on the field during that green light period until Jason Oldfield rolled his machine in turn 4 causing a restart with 15 to go. As the green light came back on the first 5 cars in Blake, Vosbergen, Ludlow, Warren Oldfield, and Veronica McCann cleared out from the pack and maintained their status until the flag dropped.

It was a great result for Craig Vosbergen who hasn't had the best of runs at Northam Motorsport’s Park in the past or on the Northam Speedway slick surfaces.

After the meeting Craig has this to say to a very supportive Dirt Late Model crowd : "tonight was a testing race but I really enjoyed it. I’ve not had the best luck here in the past so I was a bit hesitant in the final. I wish now I tried to go earlier than I did but second is just as good as I keep the Kart World Belmont points lead going into the big Boxing night show. Also good to run well here before our state title on January 19th, where we will have Doug Drown out from the USA to race as well. Also like to thank my crew Adam and Jay, as well as all my family up there on the hill".
